Community Nurses

Our District nurse team provide skilled nursing care, advice and assessments for patients who are housebound.

Patients eligible for this service are those who:

  • are unable to travel to surgery due to serious illness or disability
  • are recovering from surgery and are too unwell to travel
  • need palliative nursing care
  • have undergone chemotherapy or radiotherapy and travel would be detrimental to recovery
  • need treatment which cannot be appropriately carried out in the surgery setting

Health Visitors

The health visitors are able to offer support, advice and a listening ear to you and your family; this can include advice on parenting, post-natal depression, sleep, behaviour management, breastfeeding, weaning/feeding.

If you would like to speak to a health visitor please ring 01305 217065. The health visitors are based at Frederick Treves House, Poundbury.
